TOPOCENTRIC ASTROLOGY

A group of news:alt.astrology.moderated denizens uses `topocentric'
positions instead of `geocentric' by default. But this article is
not for the advanced astrologer.

Magazines and websites publish horoscopes based on `geocentric'
data, assuming it does not matter where on Earth (or under earth)
you stand for the purpose of the planetary positions. The assumption
is we all dwell in Middlearth, and while some of us do, others
might be inclined to enjoy the surface.

The error gets dramatical when dealing with horary astrology,
lunar directions, astrocartography, lunations and pregnancy
astrology, since it is the Moon that is not there where your
SolFire has it. The Moon is elsewhere. It could be in another
house, void of course, conjunct quite another star and so on.

In astrocartography the difference is miles and in direction
it is year(s). A client will (not) invest on that real estate
on the basis of the Moon being `out of course' (or not). The
matter is well worth some ear and completely ignored by pop
ular websites and magazines. The U.S.A., WTC or Geaorge Bush's
Moon simply isn't there. WTC does not stand in Middle Earth
and George has been born on the surface, on a precise spot.

London Moon and Tokyo Moon are not at the same position at the
same time. Already time is a position. Time is nothing but the
adjustment to the rotation of this planet. In outer space no
time exists.

Leaving philosophy and astronomy to programmers and wise men,
the practical issue of the use of topocentric positions is
precision. Your errors were due to geocentrical positions.
Now 1970 will become 1971, and the 10:11 eclipse will become
a 11:23 one, that Moon will not be out of course at all and
it's horary timing will get perfect GAMT due to it's placement
in another house. These are some of the benefits of this type
of astrology.
