HP PSC 1215, Kopierer sort

Hej

Hilsen
Søren

Introduction
This document provides solutions for resolving error messages that occur while scanning with the following HP all-in-one products:
HP Officejet D series
HP Officejet G series
HP Officejet V series
HP PSC 700 series
HP PSC 900 series
The all-in-one software was not uninstalled before upgrading to Microsoft® Windows XP
The software that shipped with your HP all-in-one product might not contain drivers for Windows XP. Refer to the label on the CD-ROM for a list of supported operating systems. If Windows XP is not listed, visit the driver download page for your product to obtain the current drivers.
While the all-in-one will print using a driver built into Windows XP, the following symptoms may occur:
After installing the original software CD-ROM in Windows XP, the Fax Setup Wizard (on fax capable products only) will not appear.
The computer was upgraded to Windows XP without uninstalling the HP all-in-one software.
The HP Director software will open, but attempting to access any of the product functionality or status from the HP Director software will result in a product disconnected error message.
Scanning will function if attempted from another program or the Windows XP Scanners and Cameras folder but not from the HP Director.
Correcting the problem
To correct the problem, the all-in-one software must be uninstalled.
Click Start, Control Panel, and then click Add or Remove Programs.
Click the HP all-in-one software entry in the list of installed programs to highlight it.
Click Remove.
After the software is uninstalled but before restarting the computer, disconnect the communications cable to the HP all-in-one from the computer.
Restart the computer by clicking Start, clicking Turn off computer, and then clicking Restart.
Obtain and install the Windows XP software.
HP Officejet G and K series: Refer to HP document Installing the HP Officejet G and K Series Products in Microsoft(R) Windows XP (bpu01854) to learn how to obtain and install the HP Officejet G and K series in Windows XP.
HP Officejet V and PSC 900 series: Refer to the HP document Installing the HP PSC 900 Series or HP Officejet V Series in Microsoft(R) Windows XP (bpu01857) to learn how to install these product in Windows XP.
HP PSC 700 series: Refer to HP document Ordering and Installing the HP PSC 700 Series Driver for Microsoft(R) Windows XP (bpu04835) to learn how to install the PSC 700 series in Windows XP.
"Scanner not found," "Scanner disconnected," or "Scanner cannot be initialized" error messages
These errors are normally the result of a failed scan, a bad installation, communication problems or software conflicts. Check or perform the following steps until the problem is corrected.
Step 1: Restart the computer
Close all programs and restart the computer. A task that Windows requires may have stopped running or available system resources may have decreased due to tasks left running. Restarting will refresh all Windows tasks as well as increase the system resources available.
Step 2: Verify that the cable is connected and the all-in-one is "On"
Verify that the cable is connected correctly. If the cable is connected into a USB port on a keyboard, move the cable to one of the main USB ports in the PC. Some keyboard USB ports do not provide sufficient power to supply a device such as the all-in-one.
Step 3: Check the application
If the error occurs while trying to scan from within an application (not the HP Director), verify that the software is set to select the HP all-in-one product as the TWAIN source. It may be necessary to reinstall the application to get it to recognize the HP all-in-one product as the TWAIN source. If the application is one of those listed in the "Scan To" tool from Settings in the Director, then try scanning to it from the Director.
Step 4: Windows XP only: Change the Compatibility Mode settings
This step applies only to the following products and only in Windows XP. For other products, continue to Step 5.
HP Officejet G, K, V, and D series models
HP PSC 700 and 900 series models
Change the Compatibility Mode setting for the HP all-in-one desktop icon can correct the problem.
Right-click the HP product icon, and then click Properties.
Select the Compatibility tab.
Change the Compatibility Mode settings to enable running the program in Windows 2000 Compatibility mode, and then click OK.
Turn off the all-in-one.
Restart the computer.
Turn the all-in-one back on.
Step 5: Check for the correct entries in the Device Manager
Verify that the unit was installed on a DOT4 virtual port in the Device Manager.
Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
Select the Device Manager tab (Windows 2000 select the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager).
Check the list of installed devices for references to DOT4 as shown in Figure 1. If there are no DOT4 references, the software has not installed correctly.
Figure 1: The Dot4 virtual drivers (outlined in red) in the Device Manager

If these entries are missing, the software did not install properly. Do the following steps to correct the problem:
Disconnect the communications cable to the all-in-one and unplug the power cable to the all-in-one.
Uninstall the HP all-in-one software.
Step 6: Check for communication problems between the all-in-one and the computer
Communication between the all-in-one and the computer may have failed.
USB cable connected all-in-ones: Review HP document USB Connected HP All-in-One's Software Reports a Disconnected or an Error Status (bpu01859) to check for USB compatibility problems on the computer.
Parallel port installed all-in-one products: Review HP document Parallel Port Connected All-in-One: Error Messages in Windows: 'Disconnected' Status or 'Cannot Find Scanner' (bpu01837) to check for parallel port communication problems.
Step 7: Check the computer to see if it is infected with a computer virus
If the all-in-one prints but will not scan correctly and does not show any symptoms of communications problems, the computer might be infected with a virus. Some viruses try to disable virus scanning software and in doing so disable scanning from the all-in-one.
If the scanning software works after installing the all-in-one software until the first time the computer is restarted, or quits working after a virus is discovered on the computer, there may be a virus related problem. For instructions to check for and remove viruses, follow the steps in HP document Resolving the Error Message “Class Installer Has Denied the Request to Install or Update the Driver,” bpu00740.
Step 8: Uninstall and then reinstall
Do the following to uninstall and then reinstall the HP all-in-one software:
Follow the steps in the " Removing the HP software " section below to remove the all-in-one software.
Right-click My computer and then click Explore.
On the left side of the Windows Explorer screen, locate and open the Windows or WinNT folder.
Locate and open the Twain32 and/or Twain_32 folders.
Remove all files in these folders other than files that end with a .ds file extension. If you cannot see any file extensions, click Tools, click Folder options, select the View tab, and then remove the check from Hide file extensions for known file types.
Restart the computer and then reinstall the all-in-one software.
When the installation of the all-in-one software is complete, shutdown the computer.
Connect the communications and power cords to the HP all-in-one and verify that it is turned on and ready.
Restart the computer.
Step 9: Check for software interference
There may be a task running in the background that is interfering.
Try pressing the keys Ctrl + Alt + Delete at the same time. This should bring up the "Close Program" window.
Highlight and end task on all running tasks except for Explorer, Systray, and tasks that begin with "HPO." Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to bring up the "Close Program" box for each and every task. The "Close Program" box will disappear when End Task is chosen.
Try launching a scan after all tasks are closed. If scanning works, then there is a software conflict. Restart the computer and repeat the steps to close down the tasks. Close down one at a time or in combinations and try scanning until the cause is found. If it is unknown what this task does, do the following:
Search for the file using the Find Files and Folders feature from the Start menu.
Right-click the task's program icon, and then click Properties.
Refer to the information on the Version tab to locate the software vendor. Call the software vendor for assistance or uninstall the product if not needed.
Error message "Scan UI: The (all-in-one) series software is already running"
This error message will occur if the scanning software is left open and then another scan is attempted. To resolve the problem, close the scanning software and destination application before attempting to scan again.
The second solution for Windows 98 and Windows Me is disabling the scanner file Stimon from starting up automatically.
Follow the directions below to disable Stimon:
Save all your work and close all applications.
Click Start, click Programs, click Accessories, click System tools, and then click System Information.
Select System Configuration Utility from the Tools menu in the "Help and Support" window.
Select the Startup tab in the "System Configuration Utility" window.
Uncheck StillmageMonitor in the list. StillmageMonitor corresponds with STIMON.EXE.
Click OK to confirm the change. A new window will prompt you to restart.
Select OK to restart the PC.
After restarting, try scanning to an application.
"Not enough disk space" error when scanning at high resolutions (in Windows 98)
This error has been observed on parallel port installations in Windows 98 when scanning at very high resolution (1200 dpi and above). The Windows parallel port drivers are not capable of processing the size of files created when scanning at very high resolutions. Try the following workarounds:
Scan at a lower resolution. There are few advantages to scanning at very high resolutions unless the image is to be greatly expanded. The file size when scanning at 1200 dpi and above is massive (100 megabytes and above) and difficult to work with. HP recommends scanning photos at the same resolution that the image is to be printed in unless the image is to be expanded quite a bit.
Free up some hard disk space by emptying the recycle bin, eliminating .tmp files and etc. Refer to HP document How to Increase System Resources Without Adding RAM (bpu01773) for assistance freeing up hard disk space.
Parallel port connected all-in-one products: Uninstall the HP all-in-one software and reinstall it connected to the USB port. The USB DOT4 virtual port drivers can handle files of this size. Follow these steps:
Disconnect the cables from the all-in-one to the computer.
Turn the power off to the all-in-one and unplug the power cord from the back of the all-in-one.
Uninstall the HP Officejet software and restart the computer.
Disable any antivirus software and reinstall the HP all-in-one software. If given the option to shutdown the computer after the installation is complete, take that option and leave the computer powered down while connecting the all-in-one.
Plug the power cord back into the all-in-one and let it power up. Connect the HP Officejet to the computer with the USB cable.
If the computer was powered down, power the computer back up. Windows should detect the HP Officejet and finish installing the drivers. If there are any problems installing the software, refer to the document Troubleshooting Installation Issues for USB-Connected HP All-in-One Products in Microsoft(R) Windows (bpu01858).
"Unable to connect to PC" front panel message when scanning from the front panel
There are two possible causes for this error. Either communication with the all-in-one has been lost or the task that monitors the "Scan" button is not running. Press Cancel to clear the error. Follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue:
Verify that the USB cable is connected to the computer and the all-in-one and that the computer is running (and a user session is active in Windows XP).
Restart the computer to refresh Windows.
Look for an all-in-one icon next to the time. If the icon is not present, double-click the HP all-in-one icon to open the HP Director and then click Status. The all-in-one icon should appear next to the time after a few moments and the Status screen should indicate that the all-in-one is "Ready".
If the icon appears and the Status is "Ready", try to scan from the front panel again.
If the icon does not appear or the status is not "ready", uninstall the all-in-one software as directed below in the " Removing the HP software " section. Reinstall the software after the uninstall is complete.
If the “Unable to connect to PC” error message continues to appear, refer to HP document Resolving Disconnected Status and 'Scanner not Found' Error Messages for USB Connected All-in-Ones (bpu01859) for assistance.
"Invalid Page Fault" and "General Protection Fault" error messages
"Invalid Page Fault" and "General Protection Fault" errors are generally caused by a conflict between two programs trying to use the same computer resources. Click Details on any error message to obtain detailed information about the error. Write down the error information and keep it nearby. Follow the directions below to resolve these types of error messages:
Search the HP support web site for a document that covers your specific error.
If a document cannot be found on your exact error, review the documents for HP Pavilion computers that cover this topic.
For "Invalid Page Fault" errors, refer to HP document Resolving Illegal Operation and Invalid Page Fault Errors (bph07151).
For "General Protection Fault" errors, refer to HP document Resolving General Protection Fault (GPF) Errors (bph07152).
If you are still unable to correct the problem, contact HP for assistance.
"Scanner failure" front panel error message
This error occurs if the scanner bulb is not heating to the correct temperature or there is some other problem with the scanner hardware. If the all-in-one works correctly, there is generally not a problem. Perform the following steps to resolve the problem:
Verify that the scanner bulb is lit. If the scanner bulb will not light up, the all-in-one must be serviced.
Unplug the power cord and then plug it in again. If the error comes back, remove the power cord from any power strip and plug it directly into a wall power outlet. The power strip may not be supplying enough power to the product.
Perform a partial reset using the following steps:
Unplug the power cord from the all-in-one.
Press and hold the button combination for your all-in-one model that is listed in the table below. If your all-in-one model is not listed in the table, contact HP for assistance.
While still holding the buttons down, plug the power cord back in. Release the buttons after the all-in-one begins to initialize.
For more information on performing a partial reset, see the HP support document, HP All-in-One Products - Performing a Partial Reset (c00060793).
Try to make a copy and/or a scan.
If these steps cannot correct the problem, the all-in-one will need to be serviced.

Håber det kan hjælpe.

Mvh
Ivan

Hej IBM760

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?lc=en&cc=dk&docname=bpu00675&dlc=da&product=412187&lang=da&

Du har formodentlig også en dansk manual til printeren, og der må også fremgå hvordan du får sat den tilbage i grundindstilling.
